Elton John’s: Aida

I was Costume Shop & Wardrobe Coordinator and co-costume designer, with Buddy VanLoon.
I directed a crew of 8 volunteer stitchers to build many new costumes and to redesign garments into stylized costumes for a visually vibrant production.

‘Every Story … is a Story of Love, at Heart’
This show features costume design, color pallet, special effects and a close cooperation between costumes, staging & choreography. Strong use of scarlet, black and gold metallics for Egypt; vibrant blues and greens for free Nubians and earth tones for Nubian slaves helped move the story for the audience. Custom built costumes played a key role in this production.

Costumes bring depth to a show with color, texture & movement. They help the actor become the character in the eyes of the audience. Costumes can create excitement, wonder and spectacle! They turn the cast into art in motion.
